Saddleback Lighting, Inc. opened in St. George, Utah in January of 2008. Owner Susan Guernsey and her husband Gary have been in the lighting business in Southern California and Texas since 1972. We are a woman-owned small business, so if you are pursuing a government contract with set-asides, please consider us for your lighting needs.
Gary is the most prominent public face of Saddleback Lighting. He calls on dozens of customers and prospects each week, and when any of us encounter a tough question, he is the one who’s most likely able to answer it, or to find out for us. Gary loves to help design lighting for retail spaces, hotels, and restaurants and has worked with many architects over the years to ensure optimal lighting and energy efficiency in new and remodeled buildings. In addition to Washington County, he also travels regularly to Mesquite, Springdale, and Northern Utah to service our customers there.
Susan’s primary day-to-day responsibility is managing our finances. She handles all the accounting, credit card payments, receivables and payables. Besides sharing their business, she and Gary have two grown children and three grandchildren. Their son, who resides in Texas, is a licensed electrical contractor who specializes in lighting projects.
Carol is our warehouse manager. She started with Saddleback Lighting in 2008 as an independent sales representative. As the company grew, we needed an inside salesperson so she joined our staff in May of 2010. If you call the office, most likely it’ll be Carol who takes your call and your order. She also fills orders and handles our UPS shipping.
Miriam is our administrative assistant. She is the classic “Gal Friday” who does a little bit of everything. Prior to joining Saddleback Lighting, she worked at a local electrical wholesaler for over 30 years.
Artie is our sales representative who serves many of our outlying southern areas from Cedar City to Moab and Page. He has been an entrepreneur for more than 30 years and is well known for his excellent and attentive customer service. He drives hundreds of miles each week in rural areas, so doesn’t always have cell service, but his customers are welcome to call the office with questions or to place an order.
Sid is our local delivery driver. He hails from New Jersey originally and recently moved to St. George to enjoy our sunshine! He retired after 30 years maintaining dozens of large church buildings, so he’s familiar with our products. Deliveries begin around 2 pm weekdays, so if you get your order in by about 12:30, and we have it in stock (which we almost always do), Sid will bring it to you with a smile.
